ENDLESS LOVE: A SERIES

The Black Muslim Time UK’s very own ‘soul surgeon’, Aadam Muhammad, a qualified life coach, will be here to provide expert marital advice to our readers.

As salamu alaykum brothers and sisters, I’d like to welcome you to my new regular feature aimed at helping you find the answers to the challenges you face within your marriages.

I’ll be coaching you to look at this from perspectives that will allow you to do your own soul searching and reach conclusions that will help your current, or pending marriage, become a resounding success.

So, let’s get started!

Why can’t we just get along?

Well, it’s certainly no secret that the amount of divorces happening to Muslims in the West is nothing short of alarming. This article on divorces amongst Muslims in North America, presents findings that may be much closer to home than we realise.

Although I have not been able to find recorded statistics for Muslim divorce rates in the UK, another article I discovered written by a British sister echoed the growing problem of divorce in our community. The issues and outcomes raised in both articles are very similar. It just goes to show that no matter what part of the world Muslims are based in, relationship issues still affect them in the exact same ways.

What do you bring to the table?

I suppose many people are hoping to find someone they believe will bring fulfilment to their lives. Being married to, or having the opportunity to get married to, a person who is faithful, kind, intelligent, generous, romantic, and has a great sense of humour, is a dream come true.

Surely having a partner like this would be the absolute pinnacle of marriage success, no?

If this is true for the majority, then I think many of us are focusing on the wrong end of the stick! Instead of seeking ‘Super-Muslim’ for a marriage partner, maybe we need to start a little closer to home and seek to develop those qualities within ourselves first.

At least then, you’ve got something to ‘bring to the table’. Instead of demanding a five-star restaurant meal on a McDonald’s budget!

You get out what you put in.

What next?

I hope this short introduction to the ‘Endless love’ life coaching feature has got you excited for what’s coming up.

In the next feature, we’ll be going further into developing those qualities that will increase your chances of marital compatibility and long-lasting success immensely.

See you for my next article – inshAllah!

Wa salaam alaikum wa barakat tuhu.
